WHAT IS IKFF?
A first-of-its-kind global film festival held in schools across 20+ countries since 2017. It utilises visual storytelling and the magic of cinema to inspire and educate young minds. IKFF is an opportunity for students across the globe to WATCH the best of International Children's Cinema, LEARN filmmaking through workshops and master-classes and MAKE films to participate in the world’s largest student filmmaking competition.
WHY IKFF?
Visual storytelling is an essential life skill in a world dominated by audio-visual content. Exposing children to different languages, cultures, emotions, and life challenges through films is the need of the hour in a connected world.
But there is a problem- most kids do not have access to good quality content. And what’s worse, many Kids Film Festivals despair about poor attendance!
"Even if kids don’t go to film festivals, we can take the festival to the kids!”
This thought gave shape to IKFF in 2017, when the Festival did not have just one venue but more than FIVE HUNDRED!
IKFF partners with schools all over the world and it is these schools that host the Festival in their premises not only for their own students and parents, but also for the neighbourhood.
In 2019, right before the pandemic, IKFF took place in 9000 schools across 40 countries!
