SCIFF curates over 100 award-winning children's films from 20+ countries in 15+ languages — handpicked to inspire empathy, provoke thought, and ignite conversation. In SCIFF 2024, over 30,000+ schools screened these films for 8 million+ students—right in their school premises.

Each film is reviewed by a distinguished jury, ensuring age-appropriateness, emotional depth, and relevance to students’ lives.

Learning the language of storytelling

SCIFF takes students behind the scenes through LEARN Cinema, a series of immersive workshops, masterclasses, and guided activities that demystify the filmmaking process.LEARN builds media literacy, creative thinking, and real-world skills — within the comfort of school timetables.

Led by award-winning filmmakers, editors, writers, and other film professionals, students explore:

Storyboarding and scriptwriting
Framing, camera angles, and cinematography
Sound design and editing
Visual storytelling and narrative construction

Creating the next generation of storytellers

MAKE Cinema is a unique filmmaking competition for students, where students create their own short films, drawing on everything they’ve learned. From script to screen, they take the lead as writers, directors, editors, and actors — telling stories that reflect their realities, dreams, and voices.

Award Categories include:

Best Film (One per Age Category)
Special Mention Awards:

- Best Editing

Outstanding student films are awarded and showcased at the next edition of SCIFF. Winners also join youth juries, shaping global conversations on cinema.
